It’s Atwell again in Port Clinton by David A. Hanshaw The sixth stop on the Jacoby Cues Great Lakes Tour was held on February 11th & 12th at Rack Attack Billiards Café in Port Clinton, Ohio. This tournament welcomed players from around the Midwest, including the #20 player in the WPBA, Janet Atwell. Atwell, who had won the last event at Rack Attack in December, made it to the winner-side final before being challenged; there she would fall to friend and Ohio native Dawn Fox by a score of 7-6. Fox made her way to the hot seat with victories over Lonnie Fox 7-2, Becky Ball 7-5, and Gail Grecar 7-4. Atwell had dispatched her first three opponents, Erica Saulino 7-3, Stephanie Goens 7-2, and Tracy Johnston 7-1. After falling to Fox, Atwell bounced back with a semi-final win over CJ Jerome 7-6 to secure a spot in the finals. There her steady play earned her a 9-5 title victory, leaving Dawn Fox with second place and the qualifier to the WPBA Great Lakes Classic.
